We havr Prison guards who make sure we are staying within the "walls".You know in this age we joke about people who have "drank the koolade" but I find that so few care about what goes on around them because someone else will take care of it, they just want to get along.

Charity.. is lost. When people give big it because they have an expectation to receive from it. What they miss is that the gift is the act of giving ! It is easy to give money, the true gift is time. Thus the the phrase "time is money".People want to give to the planet and "create" a better world but they ignor everyone around them and refuse expand..They carry their non plastic bags to the grocery and buy organic and feel better because they did their part. If that is all it takes then WHY do some of us feel so "jailed"?

Ryan...

It's odd (well, not really I guess) that you used the word "mainstream" in your response. I edited it out of my original "work" on this subject. But I think it does express the situation well.

I think that some "living of the questions" is necessary, but if that's the case, then we are in a fix. Can not educated and trained clinicians treat that which they have not experienced?

Bad faith is rampant? Wow. But why? Is there no sufficient benefit to act in good faith? Are the benefits of acting in bad faith greater than those of acting in good faith?

Yes, I believe that people will do what they can with their innate capacity, but are we not able to improve on the innate? If not, then why do we have schools? Why do we educate?

I have often considered the "comfortable prison" idea. My conclusion is that most people erect "forts" for their personal safety, become so accustomed to the security (?) they find there, and ultimately become prisoners in the fortification of their own making.

Thanks for the read time...and the feedback.

Peace.....

Hmmmm...I think you're right on the mark setting up the parameters of the argument. The questions are excellent ones, and like you, I don't often see them getting addressed, at least not in mainstream, because as you know, the mainstream does not ask such questions. I suppose, to see such a problem or problems one has to have first lived the questions (had insight enough, personal depth enough, transparency enough in the first place to recognize the problems), and that just doesn't often happen with anybody. Like the man said, most of the world's problems stem from not being able to sit still in a room. I think the short answer, if there is one, is that "Everybody lies." bad faith is rampant. I have only look at my own life and recognized the fallacies/unsubstantiated scripts/narratives running through my mind to see how I sabotage my own happiness, self-interest, etc. People are going to do what they are going to do with whatever capacity they were born with, so will choose evolution, most will not, some will leave the cave for the light, most will return, and some will return to the cave to convince the others that the shadows on the wall are not real...and be torn apart to save the lie of those still chained to the world of delusion. If we know better we tend to do better. Some people just aren't happy unless they're miserble. They love their self-imposed prisons; freedom is too much, too big, too unfamiliar, too scary. Better a familiar prison than an unfamiliar, unsure world of freedom, and life. Like Campbell's Hero's Journey...they refuse the call, and miss out on their best lives. Quiet desperation. And besides, it is far better to find something/someone to blame than take responsibility for your own life. Life is hard, the appearance of being alive not so much. Most people do it everyday...zombies.
